Accounts Assistant – Study Support Nottingham (Office-Based) £25,000 – £28,000 Full Study Support Are you looking to build a strong foundation in your finance career within a supportive and growing manufacturing business? Do you want hands-on experience across core accounting functions while completing your AAT qualification? We are recruiting for a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join a well-established manufacturing company based in Nottingham. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the early stages of their finance career who is currently studying AAT (or looking to start) and eager to gain practical experience in a dynamic, stock-focused environment. Full study support is provided for the right candidate. The Role Working as part of a supportive finance team, you will gain exposure to a broad range of accounting responsibilities, including: Managing the Purchase Ledger – processing supplier invoices, statement reconciliations, and payment runs Raising and processing Sales Invoices Supporting with stock reporting and stock reconciliations within a manufacturing environment Assisting with month-end processes, including accruals, prepayments, and journal entries Supporting with balance sheet reconciliations Bank reconciliations Maintaining accurate financial records using Sage Assisting with ad hoc reporting and general finance administrationThis role will give you valuable exposure to stock accounting and balance sheet work, making it ideal for someone looking to develop strong technical accounting skills early in their career. About You This opportunity would suit someone who: Is currently studying AAT or committed to starting their AAT qualification Has experience in a finance-based role such as Finance Assistant, Purchase Ledger Clerk, Finance Administrator, or Accounts Assistant Has a solid understanding of basic accounting principles Is confident using Excel and has experience with accounting software (experience with Sage is highly desirable) Has strong attention to detail and excellent numerical accuracy Can manage deadlines effectively while balancing work and study Is proactive, organised, and eager to develop professionallyExperience within a manufacturing environment or working with stock would be advantageous but not essential.
