Accounts Assistant
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our client and work alongside the Head of Accounts. This is a hands‑on role requiring someone who is proactive, autonomous, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment. You will manage the day‑to‑day financial operations of the business, ensuring accurate recording of purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
Core Responsibilities
* Record daily financial transactions and maintain the general ledger.
* Reconcile bank statements and verify the accuracy of financial records.
* Manage accounts payable and receivable, including issuing invoices and processing vendor payments.
* Maintain organised financial documentation for compliance and auditing purposes.
* Assist with multiple VAT returns.
* Credit control.
* General bookkeeping duties.
Candidate Profile
* Minimum 3 years’ bookkeeping experience.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Confident communicator via phone and email.
* Proficient in Excel and finance software (Profit 4 is used).
* Proactive, organised, and collaborative, with the ability to work independently.
* Logical thinker with good problem‑solving skills.
