Accounts Assistant (part time)
Salary: £26,000 – £28,000 (Pro Rata £15,600 – £16,800 per annum) Contract Type: Permanent, Part-Time (22.5 hours per week) Working Pattern: 3 full days per week including Fridays. Flexible hours available could do school hours over 5 days An established and well-respected organisation within the sports and events sector is seeking a Finance Assistant to join its small but dedicated finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with bookkeeping or finance experience who is looking for a flexible, part-time role with the potential to increase to full-time hours in the future. You will support the day-to-day finance function across purchase and sales ledgers, credit control, banking, commission payments and general finance administration. Key Responsibilities * Managing credit control processes, including checking balances, producing weekly reports and chasing payments * Monitoring bank statements and posting incoming payments * Producing and reconciling box office and cashbook reports * Processing and reconciling commission claims * Collating and processing purchase invoices, including company credit card transactions * Managing the accounts inbox and logging invoices for approval * Processing petty cash claims in line with company policy * Handling finance-related calls and emails, including taking card payments * Completing new supplier forms * Supporting year-end reconciliation processes * Providing general administrative support to the finance team * Ensuring compliance with company policies and health & safety standards About You * Finance-related background with some bookkeeping experience * Experience using accounts software * Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel * Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Good organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines * Positive, customer-focused approach * Able to work independently and as part of a team * Flexible attitude towards working hours Benefits * 20 days’ annual leave (pro rata), rising to 25 days after 2 years’ service * Your birthday off * Pension contribution * Enhanced maternity pay * Professional development opportunities * Free eye tests * Free on-site parking
