Accounts & Tax Manager (GP Specialist)
Please note prior experience managing GP/medical clients within an accountancy practice is essential for this role.
The Role
You'll take ownership of a portfolio of GP practice clients, providing both compliance and advisory support across accounts, tax and NHS pension matters.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing and reviewing GP practice accounts
Preparing and submitting GP superannuation certificates
Handling personal and partnership tax for GP clients
Advising on drawings, profit allocation and tax planning
Submitting annual estimates via PCSE
Managing NHS Pension Scheme requirements, including:
Liaising with NHS for AAPSS
Calculating Annual Allowance positions
Completing RPPS reporting and compliance
Acting as a trusted advisor to clients and building strong relationships
About You
Proven experience working with GP/medical clients in an accountancy practice (essential)
Currently operating at Manager level (or ready step-up with clear ownership of a portfolio)
Strong knowledge of:
GP accounts
Partnership tax
NHS pension processes (desirable but highly beneficial)
Confident advising clients and managing relationships independently
Highly organised with strong attention to detail
