Adult Social Worker - Social Care Point (Newcastle)

Caritas Recruitment is working in partnership with Newcastle City Council to recruit an experienced Adult Social Worker to support the Adult Social CarePoint (Front Door) team on a temporary basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Social Worker who is confident working in a fast‑paced environment and has strong knowledge of statutory adult social care frameworks.

Job Type: Temporary
Hours: 37 hours per week

Pay Rates

£21.70 per hour PAYE
£27.56 per hour Umbrella

Role Overview

The successful candidate will be supporting work at the front door of Adult Social Care, assisting with incoming referrals and statutory decision‑making to ensure timely and appropriate responses for adults and carers.

Essential Skills & Experience

Sound knowledge and understanding of the Care Act
Experience working with carers, including completing Carer's Assessments
Strong working knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act
Ability to work effectively within a fast‑paced social work team
Experience within Adult Social Care at a statutory local authority levelThis role would suit an adaptable and confident Social Worker who can hit the ground running and provide immediate support to a busy frontline service.
