✨ ALN Classroom Support – Make a Difference Every Day! | Cardiff ✨
Teaching Personnel is looking for a kind‑hearted, resilient, and enthusiastic ALN Classroom Support Assistant to join a wonderful specialist day school in Cardiff. You’ll be supporting amazing young people aged 11–19 with moderate to severe learning difficulties and ASD — helping them learn, grow, and shine in their own unique ways.
At this school, pupils build brilliant friendships, develop their social confidence, and thrive in a caring environment where staff truly understand and respond to their needs. Nearly all pupils make progress that reflects their abilities — and you’ll be right there helping them every step of the way.
This is a hands‑on, rewarding role where no two days are the same! You’ll support pupils 1:1 or in small groups, helping them develop academically, emotionally, socially, and behaviourally.
What We’re Looking For
• Experience supporting children or individuals with SEN or challenging behaviours is desirable. Backgrounds in care, education, coaching, youth work, or support settings are a bonus — but not essential. We welcome candidates who can confidently demonstrate strong transferable skills at interview.
• Ability to provide consistent, nurturing 1:1 and small‑group support
• Positive behaviour management skills and calm, effective de‑escalation strategies
• A commitment to boosting pupils’ engagement, confidence, and emotional wellbeing
• Willingness to assist pupils with mobility, sensory, or physical needs where required
