Alternative Provision Teacher (KS3–KS4)

Two sites: Northampton (NN1) and Thrapston (NN14)

Start Date: 13th April 2026

Salary: Dependant on experience (M1-UPS3)

We are seeking a dedicated Alternative Provision Teacher to support KS3–KS4 students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs across our two sites in Northampton and Thrapston. You will be located at one site only.

About the Role

You will:

Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs

Support students with SEMH challenges to re-engage with learning

Build positive, professional relationships that promote trust and consistency

Work collaboratively with pastoral teams, SENCOs, families, and external agencies

Contribute to behaviour support plans and EHCP targets

About Our Students

Our learners are KS3–KS4 pupils who may have:

SEMH needs

Gaps in education due to exclusion or disrupted schooling

EHCPs or identified additional needs

Small class sizes allow you to make a genuine impact every day.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

Holds QTS (or equivalent teaching qualification)

Has experience working with SEMH, SEND, or alternative provision settings

Has Secondary Teaching experience

Demonstrates strong behaviour management with a nurturing approach

Is resilient, patient, and committed to inclusive practice

Can adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
