Applications Engineer – Servo Drives & Motion Control About the Role We’re looking for an Applications Engineer with a passion for servo drives and motion control to join a growing engineering team. This is a customer-facing, technically focused role where you’ll support the full lifecycle of servo-driven automation solutions—from specification and demonstration through to commissioning and optimisation. You’ll work closely with customers to deliver high-performance motion systems, helping improve machine accuracy, efficiency, and reliability. What You’ll Be Doing * Supporting pre-sales activities with servo drive demonstrations and technical expertise * Specifying servo motors, drives, and motion solutions based on customer requirements * Configuring and tuning servo drives for optimal performance * Troubleshooting and resolving motion control and drive-related issues * Integrating drives with PLCs, HMIs, and motion controllers * Working with EtherCAT, PROFINET, and industrial communication networks * Visiting customer sites for commissioning, support, and optimisation What We’re Looking For * Experience with servo drives, motors, or motion control systems * Background in industrial automation, controls, or electrical engineering * Knowledge of PLC integration and fieldbus systems (EtherCAT / PROFINET ideal) * Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills * Comfortable in a customer-facing role with travel Ideal Backgrounds * Applications Engineers (motion control / drives) * Service or Maintenance Engineers working with automation systems * Mechatronics / Electrical Engineering graduates with relevant exposure Why Join? * Work with advanced servo and motion technologies * Full training and development in high-performance drive systems * Mix of hands-on engineering + customer interaction * Clear opportunity to grow within a specialist motion control field
