Approved Electrician – Working Supervisor

Location: Glasgow, covering the Central Belt
Salary: Up to £50,000
Working Pattern: Four-day working week
Hours: 40-hour contract – work 32 hours
Benefits: Company van

We are recruiting an experienced Approved Electrician / Working Supervisor to join a well-established facilities management and building services company.

This is an excellent opportunity offering a genuine four-day working week. You will be contracted and paid for 40 hours while working 32 hours across four days.

The position combines hands-on electrical work with the day-to-day supervision and support of electricians working across Glasgow and the wider Central Belt.

Key Responsibilities

* Supervise and support electricians across multiple sites.

* Allocate work and ensure jobs are completed safely and efficiently.

* Remain hands-on with electrical maintenance, installations and remedial works.

* Carry out electrical inspection, testing and fault-finding.

* Complete and review electrical certification and job documentation.

* Ensure all work complies with BS 7671 and company procedures.

* Monitor workmanship, productivity and health and safety standards.

* Liaise with clients, contractors and the management team.

* Assist with job planning, technical queries and material requirements.

* Support apprentices and less-experienced electricians.

Essential Requirements

* Fully qualified electrician.

* Approved Electrician grading, ideally evidenced by a valid SJIB/JIB or ECS card.

* Current 18th Edition qualification.

* Inspection and Testing qualification, such as City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent.

* Previous experience as a Working Supervisor, Electrical Supervisor or Lead Electrician.

* Strong commercial electrical maintenance and installation experience.

* Comfortable supervising a team while remaining hands-on.

* Full UK driving licence.

* Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
