Location: Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire
Salary: £34,398 – £46,839 (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term

We are partnering with a well-respected secondary school in Rickmansworth, known for its strong emphasis on creativity, academic success, and staff development. As part of their forward planning for the upcoming academic year, the school is looking to appoint a passionate Art Teacher to join their team from September 2026 on a long-term basis.
This opportunity is ideal for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers who are eager to inspire students and promote a love of Art and Design. The successful candidate will teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential KS5 teaching available depending on experience.
The Role
Deliver engaging and well-planned Art lessons across KS3 and KS4
Teach a broad curriculum including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital art
Foster a classroom environment that promotes creativity, confidence, and self-expression
Monitor and assess student progress, providing clear and supportive feedback
Develop creative projects that allow students to explore and showcase their talents
Contribute to curriculum planning and development within the department
Support school exhibitions and events celebrating student artwork
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver high-quality, creative lessons
Encourage hands-on learning and experimentation with different techniques
Track student progress and support ongoing development
Promote creativity, independence, and critical thinking
Work collaboratively within the Art department
Contribute to extracurricular activities such as art clubs or creative workshops
What We’re Looking For
QTS or equivalent teaching qualification (preferred but not essential)
Experience teaching Art at secondary level
Strong subject knowledge and creative teaching approach
Ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities
Effective classroom management and organisational skills
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
