This Aspiring Child Counsellor / Learning Support Assistant (LSA) role in Worthing is ideal for graduates seeking experience before progressing into careers such as Child Counselling, Clinical Psychology, Educational Psychology, or Mental Health Support.

You will work closely with experienced staff and therapists to support pupils' emotional wellbeing, behaviour, and access to learning.

Key Responsibilities for an Aspiring Child Counsellor / LSA

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
Support emotional regulation, behaviour, and social development
Assist in implementing individual learning and care plans
Observe, monitor, and report on student progress and wellbeing
Help create a safe, nurturing, and structured environment
Provide personal care where requiredWhat We're Looking For

A degree in Psychology, Criminology, Sociology, or a related field
A genuine interest in child development, mental health, or therapy
Empathy, patience, and resilience
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A proactive and reflective attitude
Experience with children or vulnerable individuals (desirable but not essential)
