We are hiring an Assistant Accountant with Purchase responsibilities for a 12‑month fixed-term contract (with potential extension). The role focuses on accounts payable, purchase ledger, invoice processing, supplier reconciliations, and finance administration.

Responsibilities:

* Processing Supplier Invoices / Resolve Supplier Queries / Prepare Supplier Payments

* Maintain Accounting System

* Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts

* Stock reconciliations, valuations and usage analysis

* Posting and subsequent balance sheet reconciliations.

* Provide backup & support to finance team members.

* Any other duties deemed necessary by management.

* Observe all Company Rules, Standard Operating Procedures and Company Policies particularly in relation to Health and Safety, Harassment, Disciplinary and ICT Security.

* Maximize efficiency by supporting Cooneen Lean continuous improvement activities

Requirements

Essential

* A degree in a relevent financial field, or working towards AAT qualification.

* Experience in a similar assistant accountants role; purchase ledger, invoice processing or reconcilliations.

* Able to work FT 5 days per week

* Familiarity with accounting software or advanced Excel skills

* Exposure to financial reporting, budgeting, or reconciliations

* Proven strong numerical skills with a keen eye for detail

* Possesses analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

Desirable

* Interest in pursuing a career in finance or accounting
