The Job You’ll Do:

* Ensuring materials are purchased at the most cost-effective price and in the most cost-effective way

* Monthly monitoring of suppliers' performance and co-ordinating associated progress activities

* Working together with other departments within the business on a daily basis, ensuring purchase process is followed.

* General system/departmental administration support to ensure system accuracy, purchase order issue and data is maintained.

* Support project teams where new projects are being introduced

* Capable of working autonomously with objectives being set by the Lead Buyer or wider Purchase management structure.

* Monitoring of cost throughout projects, identifying and tracking cost drivers

* Capable of cascading targets and objectives to sub-suppliers and ensuring targets and objectives are achieved

* Support Cost down projects and purchase requirements

* Work within project teams developing and adhering to project timing requirements

About You:

* Experience within a purchasing, procurement or buying function within an engineering/manufacturing business

* Possess a strong interest in Business topics with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively.

* A strong problem-solving ability is necessary with the drive & tenacity to follow issues through to satisfactory completion.

* Flexible, team-oriented and self-motivated approach to work.

* General computer literacy with a working knowledge of all relevant software packages such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
