Assistant / Project Quantity Surveyor – Commercial Office Fit Out Birmingham / Midlands | Excellent Salary + Package A leading commercial interiors contractor is looking to appoint an Assistant / Project Quantity Surveyor to join its growing team delivering high-quality office fit-out projects across the Midlands and beyond. This role will suit someone with around five years’ experience from a contractor background who is keen to continue developing within a supportive, collaborative environment. You’ll be working closely with a Contracts Manager and wider commercial team, gaining exposure to complex schemes and building long-term career prospects within a well-established business. The Role You will play a key part in the day-to-day commercial management of projects, including: * Supporting procurement and placing subcontract orders * Cost control and reporting * Managing variations and change * Carrying out valuations and applications for payment * Assessing subcontractor accounts * Assisting with forecasting and final accounts * Liaising with project and site teams * Supporting the wider commercial function across projects The Ideal Candidate You will likely have: * Around 5 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role with a contractor * Exposure to commercial office fit-out or refurbishment projects * A positive, coachable attitude and desire to keep developing * Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail * Confident communication skills * The ability to work collaboratively within project teams * Relevant construction or surveying qualifications Cultural fit is key — they’re looking for someone professional, personable, eager to learn and keen to grow within a people-focused business.
