Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Commercial Fit Out Birmingham | £30,000 – £40,000 + Package A well-established and growing commercial fit-out contractor and consultancy based in Birmingham is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join its expanding commercial team. Specialising in high-quality office refurbishments and CAT A / CAT B fit-out projects, the business delivers schemes across the Midlands for blue-chip occupiers, developers and landlords. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven Assistant QS to gain exposure to fast-paced commercial projects while developing under experienced senior professionals. The Role Working closely with a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager, you will be involved in: * Cost planning and budget preparation * Measurement and take-offs from drawings * Assisting with procurement of subcontract packages * Tender analysis and comparisons * Managing variations and change control * Supporting monthly valuations and cost reports * Liaising with project managers, site teams and supply chain * Assisting with final accounts The Ideal Candidate You will likely have: * A degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management * Around 1–3 years’ experience in a QS or commercial role * Experience within commercial fit-out, refurbishment or construction (preferred) * Strong numerical and analytical skills * Confident communication and stakeholder management * A proactive, career-driven mindset What’s on Offer * Salary between £30,000 – £40,000 depending on experience * Attractive benefits package * Structured career progression and mentoring * Exposure to prestigious office fit-out projects * Supportive and professional team culture This is a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to build a long-term career within the commercial interiors sector
