Assistant Quantity Surveyor

They are seeking an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our growing commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring surveying professional to develop their career with a respected contractor that invests heavily in employee development, training and progression.

The Role:

Working alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers, you will support the commercial delivery of a range of construction projects from inception through to final account.

Key responsibilities will include:

Assisting with cost planning and budget management

Preparing subcontractor enquiries and procurement packages

Valuing subcontractor applications and managing payments

Supporting the preparation of valuations, forecasts and cost reports

Assisting with change control and variations management

Monitoring project costs and identifying commercial risks and opportunities

Supporting the agreement of final accounts

Maintaining accurate project records and documentation

The Candidate:

Degree, HNC/HND or working towards a qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline

Previous experience within a construction or commercial environment (placement year experience considered)

Strong numerical and analytical skills

Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities

Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

Eagerness to learn and develop within a commercial role

A proactive and team-focused approach.
