Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Job Title: Assistant Quantity Surveyor Location: London Sector: Social Housing / Property Services Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 PSR Solutions are partnering with a leading property services contractor to recruit an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of social housing maintenance, planned works, and retrofit programmes across London and the South East. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor working on long-term frameworks, offering stability, structured progression, and the opportunity to develop into a Quantity Surveyor role. The Role Reporting to the Quantity Surveyor and Senior Commercial Team, you will provide day-to-day commercial support across multiple workstreams, including planned maintenance, refurbishment, and decarbonisation projects. Key responsibilities include: Assisting with subcontract procurement from enquiry through to appointment Supporting the preparation and issuing of subcontract documentation Assisting with cost planning, budgeting, and financial control Preparing and processing subcontractor payments, valuations, and variations Supporting cost monitoring and reporting to senior management Assisting with monthly CVRs, accruals, and forecasts Helping to manage commercial risk and ensure contractual compliance Supporting the preparation and agreement of final accountsThis role offers exposure to high-volume, fast-paced residential frameworks, with clear progression into a Quantity Surveyor position. Requirements Previous experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or in a commercial support role Experience within social housing, maintenance, or refurbishment projects is desirable Strong understanding of subcontract procurement, valuations, variations, and cost reporting Experience assisting with CVRs and forecasting Working knowledge of standard forms of contract (e.g. JCT) Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent), or working towards Strong commercial awareness, organisation, and communication skills Ambition to progress towards Quantity Surveyor level What's on Offer Salary between £30,000 - £40,000 plus package Structured career development and progression opportunities Exposure to long-term secured frameworks Supportive and experienced commercial teamIf you are an Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to progress your career within a stable and growing sector, contact PSR Solutions for a confidential discussion
