Involve Recruitment are currently seeking a motivated and technically capable Assistant Site Manager to join our team on a Housing Association development in Crewkerne. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within residential construction while working on a high-quality affordable housing scheme. The role will involve working closely with the Site Manager and project team to support the successful delivery of the development, with a strong focus on technical detail, quality assurance, and client coordination. This position will suit someone who is organised, proactive, and confident liaising with client representatives and subcontractors on a daily basis. Key Responsibilities * Assist the Site Manager with the day-to-day running of the site * Coordinate subcontractors and ensure works are delivered safely and to programme * Maintain high standards of quality control and technical compliance * Support with site inspections, snagging, and defect management * Liaise regularly with the Housing Association client team and consultants * Ensure all works meet relevant building regulations, drawings, and specifications * Monitor health & safety on site and support site inductions * Assist with site documentation, reporting, and progress updates Requirements * Previous experience in a Site Supervisor or Assistant Site Manager role within residential construction * Experience on housing or affordable housing developments desirable * Strong technical understanding of construction drawings and specifications * Comfortable working closely with clients, consultants, and subcontractors * Good organisational and communication skills * Proactive approach with strong attention to detail Qualifications (Preferred) * SMSTS or SSSTS * CSCS Card * First Aid at Work * Relevant construction qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) desirable but not essential What’s on Offer * Competitive salary based on experience * Opportunity to work on a well-structured Housing Association scheme * Supportive team environment with progression opportunities * Long-term project pipeline in the region
