Assistant Site Manager
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Assistant Site Manager looking to further their career with a well-established housebuilder known for delivering high-quality residential developments.
The Role
Reporting to the Site Manager, you will support the management of a busy residential development, ensuring homes are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme, and to the highest quality standards.
You will work closely with the Site Manager to oversee day-to-day site operations, maintain health and safety compliance, manage subcontractors and site teams, and help drive build quality throughout the development.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Site Manager with the day-to-day management of the development.
* Provide clear direction and guidance to site teams and subcontractors.
* Assist in implementing and maintaining health and safety procedures across the site.
* Conduct site inspections and ensure work is completed to the required standards.
* Maintain excellent site presentation and housekeeping standards.
* Ensure construction activities are delivered in line with technical drawings, specifications, and build programmes.
* Monitor quality throughout the build process and ensure remedial works are completed promptly.
* Assist with NHBC key stage inspections and ensure compliance with building regulations and warranty provider requirements.
* Maintain accurate site records, including labour, materials, plant and health and safety documentation.
* Support the production of progress reports and updates for senior management.
Requirements
* Previous experience working as an Assistant Site Manager within a high-volume residential housebuilding environment.
* Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and building legislation.
* Experience managing subcontractors and site-based teams.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Qualifications
* Valid CSCS Card, SSSTS Certificate and First Aid at Work Certificate.
* GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
* HNC/HND in Construction Management or a related discipline is advantageous.
* Scaffold Appreciation Certificate desirable.
