Conrad Consulting is delighted to be working in partnership with a highly regarded, multi-disciplinary property consultancy to recruit a Rural Surveying Lead for their Shrewsbury office.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Rural Chartered Surveyor to take on a key leadership role within a growing team. The position offers the chance to shape and expand a rural consultancy offering across the region while working within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

The Role

As Rural Surveying Lead, you will act as the technical and strategic lead for rural services in the region. You will be responsible for both delivering high-quality consultancy work and driving business growth through strong client relationships and market presence.

Key responsibilities include:

Acting as the internal lead and technical expert for rural surveying services

Advising on complex rural estate strategies for landowners, investors, and institutions

Managing rural tenancies including Farm Business Tenancies and AHA agreements

Identifying new business opportunities and contributing to regional growth strategy

Delivering hands-on consultancy alongside strategic leadership responsibilities

Supporting and mentoring junior team members

Ensuring compliance with RICS standards, agricultural policy, and environmental legislation

Driving efficiency, profitability, and continuous improvement within the team

Building and maintaining strong professional networks across the rural sector

Representing the business at industry events and enhancing brand presence

About You

We are seeking a commercially aware and technically strong rural surveyor with proven leadership capability and a passion for business development.

You will have:

MRICS qualification (essential)

Strong experience in rural surveying and estate management

In-depth knowledge of rural property law, agricultural economics, and sustainability

Proven track record in rural consultancy and strategy delivery

Excellent client-facing and relationship management skills

Experience in business development and building professional networks

Strong valuation and development appraisal expertise

Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and grow teams

Full UK driving licence
