Audio Visual Field Service Engineer
The Role
We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Audio Visual Field Service Engineer to join our growing team. You will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing AV and smart home systems in residential properties, ensuring systems perform at the highest level.
This is a field-based role requiring travel to client sites.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and resolve faults across a range of AV systems, including home cinemas, distributed audio, lighting control, and networking
Perform routine maintenance and system health checks
Provide on-site and remote technical support to clients
Liaise with installation teams and programmers to resolve complex issues
Maintain accurate service records and documentation
Deliver a high level of customer service and professionalism at all times
Identify opportunities for system upgrades or improvements
Required Skills & Experience
Proven experience in AV installation or service within residential environments
Strong knowledge of AV systems, including control systems, video distribution, and audio setups
Understanding of networking fundamentals (IP, Wi-Fi, routers, switches)
Experience with leading AV/control brands (e.g. Crestron, Control4, Lutron) is highly desirable
Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills
Strong communication and customer service abilities
Full UK driving licence
Desirable Skills
Experience with smart home integration and automation
Basic programming knowledge of control systems
Rack building and cable management experience
Relevant industry certifications
