A fantastic specialist school in Headington are looking for a caring, personable individual to join their team as an Autism Specialist Support Assistant. This is a full-time position, 5 days a week. The school caters for children with a primary diagnosis of Autism. Many students also have additional diagnoses, such as ADHD and learning disabilities, and benefit from a nurturing, empathetic and engaging support system. As an Autism Specialist Support Assistant, you will provide one-to-one and small group support, helping students access learning and manage their emotional and behavioural responses in a safe, structured environment. Many of the children struggle with interpersonal skills, communication and emotional resilience, and your role will be key in helping build their confidence, regulation, and resilience. This specialist school employs a therapeutic approach to support the needs of their pupils. This means the children engage in many activities outside of traditional lessons. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate individual to work alongside the therapists and psychologists based on-site at the school, and gain experience with restorative practices and therapeutic interventions.
