Automation & Controls Engineer West Midlands | C£60k neg. + Benefits Are you an Automation & Controls Engineer looking to work on complex, high-value systems used in cutting-edge, real-world applications across the globe? Join a leading engineering business specialising in the design and manufacture of bespoke motion platforms, mechanical systems, immersive media and control software, delivering turnkey solutions to an international client base. The Role You'll play a critical role in the design, development and deployment of advanced control systems, supporting the delivery of precision-engineered, safety-critical systems from concept through to installation. Working closely with mechanical, software and systems engineers, you'll help ensure projects are delivered to exacting technical, quality and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities Design and implement control systems for complex electromechanical equipment Develop, test and maintain PLC, HMI and motion control software Produce accurate technical documentation including schematics, BOMs and manuals Ensure systems meet relevant safety, quality and compliance standards Collaborate across engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions Contribute to product development and continuous improvement initiativesAbout You Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or similar 3+ years' experience in automation / controls engineering Strong experience with PLCs (IEC61131), VFDs and motion control systems Ideally experience with Beckhoff PLCs Proven track record delivering complex electromechanical systems Detail-oriented with a hands-on, problem-solving approach Confident communicator, comfortable working with cross-functional teamsDesirable: Experience with AV systems or immersive technologies Knowledge of electrical design packages and system integration Experience supporting international projects or installationsWhat's on Offer C£60k negotiable base salary - dependant upon experience Pension & holiday entitlement Opportunity to work on high-profile international projects Travel opportunities Ongoing training and professional development A dynamic, innovative engineering environment👉 If you're looking to work on technically challenging projects with real-world impact, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly respected, globally active engineering business.
