Automotive Body Shop Paint Sprayer
Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Automotive Body Shop Paint Sprayer on behalf of a client based in Hortonwood. In this role, you will be responsible for applying high-quality paint finishes to vehicle bodies, ensuring a flawless appearance and long-lasting protection. Your expertise will contribute to customer satisfaction and the overall success of our body shop. Hours of work are Monday - Thursday 7.30am-4.30pm & Friday 7.30am-3.15pm.
Duties
* Prepare vehicle surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and masking to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality
* Mix paints, primers, and clear coats accurately according to manufacturer specifications
* Operate spray guns, HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure) equipment, and other power tools safely and efficiently
* Apply multiple coats of paint with attention to detail, ensuring smooth, even coverage without runs or drips
* Inspect finished work for quality, color match, and finish consistency; perform touch-ups as needed
* Follow all safety protocols related to handling hazardous materials and operating painting equipment
* Assist with heavy lifting of vehicle parts or components during preparation and finishing processes
Experience
* Proven experience as an automotive paint sprayer or in a similar body shop painting role
* Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle surfaces, paint systems, and spray equipment
* Skilled in the use of hand tools such as sanders, scrapers, and masking tools
* Proficient with power tools used in automotive painting and surface preparation
* Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling large vehicle parts or materials
* Knowledge of safety procedures related to working with paints, solvents, and other chemicals is preferred
The role is temporary for up to 6 months
