Behaviour Mentor
We’re working with a number of specialist SEN schools and alternative provisions across South London that are looking for strong Behaviour Mentors to support pupils who benefit from structure, consistency and clear boundaries. These settings support students who may struggle in mainstream education, often presenting with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). The right person in the room can make a significant difference - someone calm, confident and able to build trust with pupils while maintaining clear expectations. You’ll work closely with teachers and pastoral teams to support pupils in lessons, helping them stay engaged with learning and navigate challenges in a constructive way. What the role involves Supporting pupils during lessons and structured activities Helping pupils regulate behaviour and remain engaged with learning Building positive, respectful relationships with students Working alongside teachers and pastoral teams to maintain a structured environment Backgrounds that translate well into this role Behaviour Mentor Youth Worker Sports Coach Teaching Assistant Support Worker Care Worker Psychology Graduate Experience working with young people is essential. Schools value individuals who remain composed under pressure and bring consistency to the classroom. What schools are looking for A calm, confident presence Clear communication and strong boundaries Ability to build rapport with pupils Reliability and professionalism An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is highly desirable.
