JOB SUMMARY
Metro Supply Chain UK are looking for a Bendi/VNA driver to join our team in Bedford.
We’d be keen to hear from candidates who already hold licences but are open to training people who don’t.
The working hours are 6am - 2:30pm
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Within the role, the following are the kinds of tasks and responsibilities that will be included. If you spot something that you’re not able to do, or you haven’t come across before, that is OK. We don’t expect candidates to know how to do everything on this list.
Organise tasks in a safe and orderly manner.
Working at a timely pace to ensure each task is completed in order to meet the client’s requirements.
Keeping the warehouse tidy and organised.
Assisting in other areas of business as required.
Supporting other members of staff in the operation.
Operate MHE safely and effectively according to requirements.
Unloading goods in.
Checking in goods.
Putting away products keeping the warehouse.
Picking products as per customer orders.
Checking orders, ensuring accuracy.
Packing orders to ensure safety in delivery.
Loading deliveries.
Undertaking any other duties as may be required.
Completing warehouse documentation as required.
Reporting all damages, breakages, issues and H&S near misses or accidents.
Develop strong relationships with all Metro Supply Chain personnel.
Be aware of our business goals and support them.
Maintain good relationships with all customers, suppliers, working efficiently together.
Communicate with Customers in a positive and professional manner.
Develop an understanding of the products you are handling.
Work on own initiative within the deadline as set by the customers’ & business requirements.
Occasionally may be asked to help support other staff members where their knowledge or skills are more limited.
Health and Safety
Without compromise maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Report any hazards in the workplace to management immediately.
Complete all training provided in a timely manner.
Follow all laws and policies applicable.
Customer Service and Our Way Culture
As a team member, work collaboratively with Metro employees in a team-oriented environment.
Have an exceptional customer service attitude.
Look for ways to say “Yes” to the customer (internal and external).
Promote and support social initiatives driven by other team members.
Follow established processes and, where applicable, help achieve customer Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Bring a continuous commitment to your quality of work.
Be approachable and show a positive interpersonal style.
Maintain open honest relationships.
EXPERIENCE:
Licenced bendi/VNA licence holders would be preferred, with experience in warehousing before. But we are open to training people who do not have licences.
