Building Physicist/Sustainability Consultant

£30,000 - £40,000 per annum (DOE) | Manchester office | Office based with flexible working hours

We are working with a well-established Energy and Sustainability consultancy with 15 years of experience delivering high-quality services to a diverse Client base. Our expertise spans across commercial, industrial, residential, hotel, and retail sectors. Current projects include high-profile hotel developments, central London office redevelopments targeting Operational Net Zero, and BREEAM Excellent industrial projects.

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Building Physicist/Sustainability Consultant to join our clients team in their Manchester office. Day-to-Day

Your daily activities will include:

Collaborating with Clients and project teams to deliver energy and sustainability solutions.
Conducting detailed energy and thermal performance modelling.
Preparing comprehensive reports and documentation to support planning and certification requirements.
Staying updated on industry standards and regulations to ensure compliance.
Contributing to the development of innovative sustainability strategies for a variety of projects.

Responsibilities

As a Building Physicist/Sustainability Consultant, you will be responsible for:

Preparing Energy Statements to support planning applications.
Conducting Part L Energy Modelling (SAP/SBEM).
Performing Overheating Assessments.
Producing technical reports in support of BREEAM certification.
Conducting Life Cycle Assessments.
Developing Net Zero Strategies for projects.
Providing guidance on Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES).

Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

Proven industry experience in a similar role.
Proficiency in Part L Energy Modelling (SAP/SBEM).
Experience with Dynamic Thermal Simulation.
Strong technical report writing skills.
Excellent numeracy skills.
Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering.

Desirable Skills:

Experience using DesignBuilder software.
Accredited Energy Assessor qualification.
Life Cycle Assessment experience.
Master's degree in Sustainable Architecture or a related field.
