Job Title: Building Surveyor Location: Cambridge (Hybrid Working) Salary: £40,000 – £55,000 (dependent on experience) Type: Permanent A well-established and close-knit building consultancy based in Cambridge is seeking a Building Surveyor to join their growing team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a surveyor currently working towards their APC, with structured support available to help you progress toward chartership. The position provides a varied workload across local authority condition survey programmes alongside a mix of professional and project work across commercial, industrial, and public sector assets. Key Responsibilities Undertaking condition surveys primarily for local authority portfolios Utilising GoReport software to capture and report survey data Supporting and delivering a range of project and professional building surveying services Working across commercial, industrial, and public sector properties Assisting with project delivery including contract administration and technical reporting Liaising with clients and contributing to long-term asset management strategiesAbout the Role Strong focus on local authority condition survey programmes Opportunity to develop both surveying and project experience Hybrid working with minimal required visits to the Cambridge office Supportive environment within a small, collaborative consultancy teamCandidate Requirements Degree in Building Surveying or related discipline Currently working towards MRICS / APC (or planning to start) Experience undertaking condition surveys or similar inspection-based work Familiarity with GoReport or similar survey capture software is beneficial Strong report writing and communication skills Full UK driving licence preferredWhat’s on Offer Salary £40,000 – £55,000 depending on experience APC support and mentoring towards chartership Hybrid working and flexible environment Opportunity to gain exposure to both survey and project work A genuinely supportive, tight-knit consultancy cultureThis role is ideal for a Building Surveyor in the early stages of their career looking to develop within a consultancy that offers hands-on experience, chartership support, and long-term progression
