Business Development Manager
The Role
As a Business Development Executive, you will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities while building a strong and sustainable sales pipeline. You will develop and implement strategic sales plans aligned with company growth objectives and represent the business across the Scottish market.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
* Identify, target, and win new business opportunities
* Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve growth targets
* Build, manage, and maintain a high-quality sales pipeline
* Generate leads through cold outreach, networking, and industry events
* Conduct client meetings and deliver engaging presentations
* Prepare proposals, quotations, and tender submissions
* Negotiate and close deals, ensuring a smooth onboarding process
Market Intelligence & Reporting
* Maintain accurate records using CRM systems
* Provide regular pipeline updates and sales forecasts
* Monitor competitor activity and industry trends
Collaboration & Representation
* Work closely with internal teams including Operations and Account Management
* Represent the company at networking events and industry forums
* Promote the company’s sustainability and compliance standards
Requirements
Experience
* 3–5 years’ experience in B2B field sales with a proven track record
* Demonstrated ability to generate and close new business
* Experience in sectors such as hospitality, healthcare, facilities management, or commercial services (preferred)
* Good understanding of the Scottish market
* Experience with tenders or public sector procurement (advantageous)
