Buyer
Responsibilities
* Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing, negotiation, and purchasing of goods and services.
* Analyse inventory levels and forecast future requirements to ensure continuous supply chain flow.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure favourable terms and reliable delivery schedules.
* Utilise ERP systems such as SAP, SAP ERP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, or AS400 to process purchase orders and track procurement activities.
* Collaborate with logistics teams to coordinate delivery schedules and optimise supply chain efficiency.
* Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and alternative sources for critical materials.
* Monitor supplier performance and address any issues related to quality, delivery times, or costs.
* Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement regulations throughout all purchasing activities.
Experience
* Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role within a manufacturing or retail environment.
* Strong knowledge of ERP systems including SAP, SAP ERP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, or AS400 is essential.
* Demonstrable negotiation skills with a track record of securing favourable terms with suppliers.
* Familiarity with logistics, supply chain management, and merchandising principles.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
* Experience working within a fast-paced environment where attention to detail is paramount.
