A Buying Assistant at Fitness Superstore, will…
* Support the Head of Product Development & Procurement and the wider Buying Team with the day-to-day management of our commercial and home fitness equipment ranges, suppliers, and purchase orders.
* Raise, update, and track purchase order to ensure accurate and timely delivery of stock into our warehouse.
* Maintain accurate product data, including specifications, pricing, and supplier details, across our internal systems.
* Liaise with UK and international suppliers on lead times, order confirmations, delivery dates, and any issues that may affect availability.
* Monitor stock levels and availability across key product lines such as treadmills, strength equipment, weights, and accessories, highlighting potential shortages or overstock.
* Assist with basic sales and margin reporting to support buying decisions, promotions, and range reviews.
* Work closely with the warehouse, e-commerce, and customer service teams to ensure product launches, promotions, and deliveries run smoothly.
* Support the set-up of new products, ensuring all data, images, and technical specifications are accurate and complete for both commercial and home users.
* Help resolve stock, delivery, and product-related queries from internal teams and suppliers.
Working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:00.
The successful Buying Assistant will have…
* Have at least 12 months experience in an office-based role, ideally within buying, merchandising, supply chain, or a similar commercial environment.
* Strong numerical and analytical skills, with confidence working with data and spreadsheets.
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when handling product, pricing, and stock information.
* Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and colleagues.
* The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple tasks and deadlines.
* A proactive, organised, and solution-faced approach to work.
* Good IT skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
* An interest in fitness, sport or gym equipment would be a distinct advantage
