Cabinet Maker | Bespoke Fine Furniture & Joinery Location: Taunton, Somerset Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 (DOE) / Competitive Hourly Rates Employment Type: Permanent / Full-Time Start Date: ASAP The Opportunity Are you a skilled craftsman with a passion for working with fine timber? We are recruiting for an experienced Cabinet Maker to join a prestigious workshop near Taunton. Our client is renowned for producing high-end, bespoke furniture and architectural joinery for luxury residential projects across Somerset and the South West. This is a role for a true maker—someone who takes pride in traditional techniques while being proficient with modern machinery to create pieces that last a lifetime. The Role Working within a highly equipped workshop, your responsibilities will include: * Bespoke Fabrication: Crafting one-off pieces of furniture, luxury kitchens, and high-end fitted joinery from technical drawings. * Material Selection: Selecting and preparing premium hardwoods, veneers, and sheet materials. * Assembly & Hand Finishing: Executing complex joints (dovetails, mortise and tenon) and ensuring an impeccable sanded or sprayed finish. * Machinery Operation: Safe use of panel saws, spindle moulders, planers, and CNC machinery where applicable. * Installation: Occasional site visits to ensure the final fit is as perfect as the workshop build. The Ideal Candidate * Proven Craftsmanship: Extensive experience in cabinet making or high-end bench joinery. * Technical Accuracy: Ability to read and interpret detailed CAD drawings and cutting lists. * Eye for Detail: A "perfectionist" mindset with a deep understanding of wood movement and grain matching. * Tool Kit: Must be confident using both traditional hand tools and industrial workshop machinery. * Local to Somerset: Ideally based within a commutable distance of Taunton, Bridgwater, or Wellington.
