CAD/CAM Programmer – SolidWorks Location: East Kilbride Hours: Monday to Thursday, 4 day week! Salary: £14-£16 per hour About the Role Apex Resources Limited are seeking an experienced CAD/CAM Programmer with strong SolidWorks expertise to join our client in East Kilbride. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working from design through to production, programming components to a high standard in a precision-driven environment. Key Responsibilities * Create and modify CAD models and drawings using SolidWorks * Generate CAM programs for CNC machining operations * Select appropriate tooling, cutting strategies, and machining methods * Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure manufacturability * Optimise programs to improve cycle times and reduce waste * Support first-off inspections and resolve machining issues * Maintain accurate documentation and revision control * Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and quality standards Essential Skills & Experience * Proven experience as a CAD/CAM Programmer * Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks (CAD and CAM) * Experience programming CNC machines (milling/turning – specify if required) * Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications * Good understanding of machining processes, tooling, and materials * High attention to detail and problem-solving skills Desirable * Experience in a manufacturing or precision engineering environment * Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement * Experience with multi-axis machining * Apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualification What We Offer * Competitive salary depending on experience * Stable, long-term role within a growing company * Modern equipment and software * Supportive engineering team and collaborative culture * Opportunities for progression and skills development How to Apply Please submit your fully up to date CV
