CAD Designer - Noise Control

CAD Designer Overview Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be working with a well-established, market-leading acoustic engineering company with over 55 years of experience in designing, manufacturing, and installing noise and vibration control solutions across the UK and Europe. With a reputation for delivering high standards of service and technical excellence, they are embarking on an exciting growth journey and are seeking a skilled CAD Designer to join their dynamic Design Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced CAD Designer with a background in construction-related sectors such as structural steelwork, curtain walling, or cladding. Responsibilities As a CAD Designer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and practicality of designs. Your key responsibilities will include: Conducting dimensional site surveys for projects across the UK and occasionally in Europe. Attending design meetings with customers and stakeholders, both on-site and online. Producing general arrangement drawings for customer approval. Creating detailed manufacturing and installation drawings, along with bills of quantities. Coordinating designs with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders. Supporting the design team to ensure drawings are accurate, practical, and suitable for manufacturing. Producing as-built drawings upon project completion. Qualifications To succeed in this role, you will need: A minimum of five years of experience in the construction industry, ideally within structural steelwork, curtain walling, or cladding sectors. A solid understanding of sheet metal fabrication and construction practices. Proficiency in AutoCAD 2026 LT. Experience conducting dimensional site surveys. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise professionally with stakeholders at all levels. A full UK driving licence and valid passport. Willingness to travel for site visits, including occasional overnight stays and potential overseas travel. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. A proactive and flexible attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.Desirable qualifications include experience with Revit, Autodesk Inventor, or SolidWorks, as well as relevant technical qualifications or training. Day-to-Day Your typical day will involve: Collaborating with internal teams, customers, and suppliers to ensure designs meet project and manufacturing requirements. Preparing and reviewing detailed drawings and specifications. Conducting site surveys and attending meetings to gather project requirements. Coordinating with stakeholders to address design challenges and ensure seamless project execution. Supporting the design team in maintaining high standards of accuracy and practicality in all deliverables.
