Calibration Engineer

Location: Manchester
Salary: Competitive + Overtime Available
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

GPW Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Calibration Engineer to join a leading calibration and measurement specialist based in Manchester.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Calibration Engineer, Metrology Engineer, Calibration Technician, or Measurement Engineer looking to join a well-established organisation operating within a UKAS-accredited environment.

Working within a professional laboratory setting, you will be responsible for the calibration of precision measuring equipment while ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, UKAS requirements, and recognised industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

* Calibrate Force, Torque, and Dimensional measuring equipment to traceable and accredited standards.

* Produce accurate calibration certificates and maintain detailed records.

* Support UKAS surveillance and accreditation audits.

* Conduct internal laboratory audits and cross-comparison activities.

* Develop and review calibration procedures.

* Calculate and maintain measurement uncertainty budgets.

* Assist with the maintenance and verification of laboratory standards.

* Provide technical support to colleagues and customers where required.

* Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and company procedures.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

* Previous experience within a calibration, metrology, testing, or laboratory environment.

* A good understanding of calibration principles and measurement techniques.

* Knowledge of BS EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017.

* Experience calculating measurement uncertainty.

* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

* Good communication and organisational skills.

* The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.

Desirable

* HNC, HND, NVQ Level 3, BTEC, or equivalent engineering qualification.

* Experience calibrating force, torque, or dimensional equipment.

* Knowledge of technical drawings and engineering specifications.

* Experience working within a UKAS-accredited laboratory.
