Caretaker

We are looking for an experienced Caretaker in Alton.

Caretaker Duties:

Carry out general maintenance, repairs, and basic DIY tasks
Ensure the school buildings and grounds are clean, safe, and secure
Open and lock the school premises, including setting alarms
Monitor and maintain heating, lighting, and other facilities
Support with setting up rooms for events, assemblies, and meetings
Conduct regular health and safety checks
Liaise with contractors and oversee on‑site works when required
Respond to urgent maintenance issues as they arise

Caretaker Requirements:

We're looking for someone who brings a positive attitude and a practical mindset. You don't need to be an expert tradesperson, but confidence with tools and basic repairs is essential.

Experience working as a caretaker in a school setting
Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks
A proactive, can‑do approach
An understanding of health and safety
Valid Enhanced DBS
Own transport is desirable This position is Monday - Friday
