Cargo Claims Handler
This role offers variety, responsibility and the chance to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners. As a Cargo Claims Handler, you will be trusted to manage claims from initial notification through to settlement while contributing to loss prevention and risk management initiatives.
The Opportunity:
As a Cargo Claims Handler you’ll play a key role in:
Managing end-to-end cargo claims, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and timely resolution
Investigating damage, shortages and service failures to determine liability and support fair outcomes
Collaborating with insurers, surveyors, shipping lines and customers to progress claims effectively
Negotiating settlements in line with policy terms and claim value, maintaining strong professional relationships
Supporting loss prevention by analysing trends and sharing insights with internal teams
Your work will directly contribute to improved recovery outcomes, reduced operational risk and stronger stakeholder confidence.
About You:
We’re looking for someone who can bring:
Proven experience in a Cargo Claims Handler role within insurance or shipping
Strong technical knowledge of cargo insurance, incoterms and maritime legal frameworks
Confidence in analysing complex documentation and making sound decisions under pressure
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across diverse stakeholders
A collaborative mindset with attention to detail, adaptability and cultural awareness Desirable:
