Job Title: Children’s Residential Support Worker, Redditch

Location: Worcestershire

A rewarding opportunity has become available for a Children’s Residential Support Worker in Redditch, supporting children and young people in a residential setting with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours. This Children’s Residential Support Worker role in Redditch is ideal for someone resilient, enthusiastic and motivated to help young people develop socially, emotionally and behaviourally in a safe, nurturing environment.

As a Children’s Residential Support Worker in Redditch, you will build trusting relationships, promote independence and encourage positive outcomes, while taking part in day-to-day activities that make the home feel fun, stable and supportive.

Salary and Hours

* Salary: £30,272.70 to £33,275 per annum (including sleep-in allowance)

* Hours: Full-time

* Shift pattern: Long day shifts and sleep in's required

Key Responsibilities

* Support children and young people with EBD to engage in positive routines and activities

* Promote independence, wellbeing and life skills in a residential childcare environment

* Maintain a safe, homely and supportive atmosphere within the home

* Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour safely, calmly and consistently

* Protect young people from risks to their health, safety and welfare, following safeguarding procedures

* Follow individual care plans, behaviour support strategies, communication guidelines and reward structures

* Work collaboratively with colleagues and multi-agency professionals, including social workers and psychologists

Essential Requirements

* Full UK driving licence and access to your own car (required for transporting young people)

* Aged 21 or over

* Empathetic, relatable and a strong communicator with excellent listening skills

* Experience in residential childcare, children’s support work or similar settings is desirable but not essential
