Civil Engineer
Job Title: Junior Civil Engineer → Future Site / Project Manager Location: Stevenage Salary: Circa £250 per day CIS or £35,000 + Package Sector: Civil Engineering / Industrial Construction The Opportunity We are working with a well-established civil engineering subcontractor delivering Civil engineering works on a large-scale industrial development. Due to continued growth on the project, they are looking to appoint a Junior Civil Engineer who is eager to develop into a Site Manager or Project Manager over time. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who wants to move beyond purely technical duties and build a career leading packages of work on complex construction projects. You will be working alongside experienced project leaders and will be given clear development opportunities to progress into site or project management as you gain experience. The Role You will support the delivery of key civil engineering packages across the project, including: * Road construction and external works * Underground ducting and service installations * Drainage and infrastructure works * Reinforced concrete (RC) structures * Coordination with the main contractor and other subcontractors Your responsibilities will include assisting with planning, engineering coordination, quality control and ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to specification. Key Responsibilities * Supporting the Site Manager / Project Manager with daily site operations * Setting out and overseeing civil engineering works * Coordinating subcontractors and site teams * Monitoring quality, safety and programme performance * Managing documentation, method statements and technical queries * Liaising with the main contractor and client representatives * Assisting with planning and progress reporting About You * Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline * 1–4 years experience in civil engineering or infrastructure projects * Experience with works such as drainage, roads, ducting or RC structures is beneficial * Strong organisational and communication skills * Ambition to progress into Site Management or Project Management What’s On Offer * Clear progression route into Site or Project Management * Exposure to a large-scale industrial construction project * Mentorship from experienced project leaders * Competitive salary and package * Long-term career opportunity with a growing contracto
