Class 2 HGV Driver
Typical Responsibilities
* Driving: Operate Class 2 vehicles in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all relevant traffic regulations and company policies.
* Delivery Planning: Efficiently plan and organize delivery schedules, considering time constraints, traffic conditions, and delivery priorities.
* Load Management: Ensure that all goods are loaded securely and appropriately, taking into account weight distribution and vehicle capacity.
* Documentation: Complete all required paperwork accurately, including delivery notes, logbooks, and any other relevant documentation.
* Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct routine vehicle checks and report any defects or issues promptly. Maintain the cleanliness and roadworthiness of the vehicle.
* Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, including professional interaction with clients and efficient handling of goods.
* Communication: Maintain effective communication with the transport team, warehouse staff, and other relevant parties to ensure smooth operations.
* Adherence to Regulations: Stay informed about and adhere to all relevant transportation regulations, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
* Working Away: Regularly work away from home Monday to Thursday, adhering to the company's policies and allowances provided.
Qualifications
* Class 2 HGV License: Must hold a valid Class 2 HGV license.
* Driver Certifcate of Professional Competence (CPC)
* Driver Digital Tachograph Card
Experience
* Proven experience as a Class 2 HGV driver, with a clean driving record.
Skills / Abilities
* Ability to organize and plan deliveries efficiently, managing time effectively to meet deadlines.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with colleagues and customers professionally.
* Ability to handle unexpected situations and solve problems quickly and effectively.
* Willingness to work early starts, adapt to variable working hours, and be away from home Monday to Thursday.
* Ability to carry out physical tasks associated with loading and unloading goods.
