Class 2 Driver / Loader (HGV 2 Driver) Location: Sheffield / Chesterfield area Pay Rate: £14.00 - £14.48ph increasing after 13 weeks' service Job Type: Ongoing, possibility of temp to perm Hours: 37–42 hours per week Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are recruiting for Class 2 Driver Loaders to work with a local council across the Sheffield and Chesterfield area. This is a physically demanding, outdoor role combining HGV Class 2 driving and refuse loading duties. Ideal for drivers who are happy to get stuck in, stay active, and work as part of a team delivering essential public services. Class 2 Driver / Loader Duties: Driving a Class 2 (HGV 2) refuse collection vehicle Loading household waste and recycling bins Working as part of a refuse collection crew Completing daily collection routes safely and efficiently Supporting street cleansing and environmental services Manual handling and lifting throughout the shift Working outdoors in all weather conditions Requirements: Full UK Class 2 (Category C) Driving Licence Valid CPC (Driver Qualification Card) – minimum 1 year remaining Clean licence (no points) Must be over 21 years old Previous Class 2 driving experience preferred Willing to carry out loading duties as well as driving Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling Reliable and committed to full-time work Safety boots and high vis required, all other PPE provided Hours & Pay: 37–42 hours per week 06.30am-3pm Monday - Friday (potential requirement of hours sliding to 07.00am-4.00pm whilst training) Ongoing work for 26–38 weeks Benefits: Weekly pay Full-time, consistent hours Immediate / upcoming starts available Opportunity to gain local authority experience Apply now for this Class 2 Driver / Loader role in the Sheffield / Chesterfield area.
