CNC Miller – Mazak

A well-established precision engineering company, specialising in high-quality, low-to-medium volume components for demanding applications, is seeking an experienced CNC Miller to join its shop floor team. Owing to continued growth and a strong order book, this is an excellent opportunity to join a stable and expanding business.

The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and operating CNC milling machines, primarily Mazak, within a cell-based manufacturing environment. The position involves producing complex components to tight tolerances for global industries including Aerospace, Defence, and general Engineering.

Key Responsibilities

Setting, operating, and adjusting Mazak CNC milling machines

Interpreting detailed engineering drawings and CAD data

Manufacturing components to precise specifications and quality standards

Carrying out basic program edits and making offset adjustments at the machine

Conducting in-process inspection using hand-held measuring equipment

Identifying and reporting any quality or process issues promptly

Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and adhering to health & safety procedures

Candidate Profile

Proven experience as a CNC Miller within a precision engineering environment

Ability to work a rotating shift pattern (early and late shifts)

Strong experience operating Mazak machinery

Competence in reading and working from complex engineering drawings

Solid understanding of tolerances and quality requirements

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Proactive, reliable, and quality-focused approach

Desirable Skills

Experience with multi-axis machining

Additional CNC experience, such as turning

Background in aerospace, motorsport, or other high-tolerance industries
