CNC Machinists (Millers & Turners)

Maxwell Consultancy are working with an established machine shop in Ayrshire in their search for machinists. Due to continued growth, the business is expanding its manufacturing team and is seeking two skilled CNC Machinists — one CNC Miller and one CNC Turner. They specialise in producing high‑precision components for demanding sectors including aerospace, automotive, oil & gas, and rail. With modern machine tools, a well‑equipped inspection department, and a clean, organised working environment, we’re looking for professionals who take pride in quality workmanship and want to contribute to a strong, growing team. The Roles CNC Turner * Program, set, and operate CNC lathes - Doosan & Okuma. * Manufacture components to tight tolerances from engineering drawings * Carry out self‑inspection and maintain high quality standards CNC Miller * Program, set, and operate CNC milling machines - Mazak, Hurco, Haas, Doosan * Produce precision components using detailed technical drawings * Ensure consistent quality across small and medium batch work Across both roles, you’ll be expected to work safely, maintain an organised workstation, and help ensure efficient workflow throughout production. What We’re Looking For * Time‑served machinist * Minimum 2 years post‑apprenticeship experience * Strong programming and setting capabilities * Proficiency with Fanuc / Mazak controls * Confident in reading and interpreting technical drawings * Excellent attention to detail and quality * Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working rotating shifts Hours (Rotating Shifts – 37 hours, all breaks paid) Week 1 • Mon–Thurs: 6am–2pm • Fri: 6am–11am Week 2 • Mon–Thurs: 2pm–10pm • Fri: 11am–4pm What We Offer * Up to £25 per hour (depending on experience) * Employee Ownership Trust status * Company pension scheme * Life insurance * Free on‑site parking * Employee Assistance Programme * Employee referral scheme Apply now for an immediate interview
