CNC Machinist - Semi-Skilled / Skilled

Location: Corby
Hours: 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Hours 8 am – 5 pm (Monday – Thursday), 8 am – 1 pm (Friday)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience (circa £27k + attendance bonus)

Our client is looking for a reliable and motivated Semi-Skilled / Skilled CNC Machinist to join their growing production team.

The Role

Working within our machine shop, you will be responsible for operating CNC machinery to produce high-quality precision components. The successful candidate will have experience working with HAAS CNC mills and lathes and a good understanding of machining practices within a manufacturing environment.

Candidates who can independently set up and prove out jobs will be at a distinct advantage.

Key Responsibilities

* Operate HAAS CNC milling and turning machines safely and efficiently.

* Manufacture components to engineering drawings and specifications.

* Carry out routine machine checks and basic maintenance.

* Inspect components to ensure quality standards are maintained.

* Monitor production output and identify any quality or process issues.

* Maintain a clean and organised working area.

* Work closely with colleagues and the team leader to meet production targets.

* Follow company health and safety procedures at all times.

* Assist with machine set-ups and tooling changes where required.

The ideal candidate will have:

* 3 years' experience within a machine shop or CNC manufacturing environment.

* Experience operating HAAS CNC mills and/or lathes.

* Good understanding of machining tolerances and quality requirements.

* Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.

* A positive attitude and willingness to learn.

* Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

* Strong time management and organisational skills.

* Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Desirable Skills

* Ability to set up and prove out jobs independently.

* Experience selecting tooling and adjusting offsets.

* Knowledge of editing CNC programs.

* Experience working in a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
