CNC Operator/Programmer
CNC Operator/Programmer Location: Peterlee (SR Postcode) Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 (DOE) Hours: Monday - Thursday 8:00-16:30 / Friday 8:00-15:00 Overtime: We are currently working with a well-established manufacturing business that is looking to add an experienced CNC Operator / Machinist to their growing team due to continued expansion. The Role As a CNC Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC machinery to manufacture aluminium components to a high standard. You will work closely with the production team to ensure quality, accuracy and efficiency across the manufacturing process. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate Elumatec CNC machines (including SBZ 140 series) for cutting, drilling, milling and machining aluminium profiles. Load materials and select the correct tools, cutters and machine parameters. Input, edit and optimise CNC programs based on technical drawings. Carry out first-off inspections before production runs. Read and interpret engineering drawings and production documentation. Inspect finished components using precision measuring equipment such as calipers, gauges and micrometers. Ensure all parts meet the required dimensional and quality standards. Identify any errors or deviations and make necessary adjustments. Carry out routine machine maintenance including cleaning, lubrication and basic troubleshooting. Follow company health & safety procedures and maintain a clean working environment. Requirements Minimum 5 years' experience within the CNC industry. Experience operating CNC machinery within a manufacturing or engineering environment. Ability to read and interpret technical / engineering drawings. Experience using precision measuring equipment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
