CNC Sliding Head Machinist 6784 Location: Coventry Hours: Double days Salary: £17.77 an hour Key Responsibilities of a CNC Sliding Head Machinist * Setting and operating CNC sliding head machines to produce precision components to tight tolerances. * Working with materials such as stainless steel, aluminium, brass and plastics. * Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to ensure accurate manufacture. * Editing programmes and making offset adjustments using Fanuc or similar controls. * Carrying out first off inspection and in process quality checks using micrometers, verniers and gauges. * Ensuring machines are maintained, tooling is replaced as required and downtime is minimised. * Working to production schedules while maintaining high quality standards. * Adhering to health and safety procedures at all times. * Key Skills of a CNC Sliding Head Machinist * Proven experience setting and operating CNC sliding head machines. * Strong understanding of Fanuc controls or similar systems. * Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings. * Experience working to tight tolerances within a precision engineering environment. * Competent using a range of measuring equipment. * Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Flexible approach to shifts and overtime where required. Key Skills of a CNC Sliding Head Machinist * Previous experience setting and operating CNC sliding head machines within a precision engineering or automotive environment. * Strong understanding of Fanuc controls. * Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings. * Experience producing components to tight tolerances. * Confident using a range of inspection and measuring equipment. * Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high quality work. * Able to work effectively as part of a team in a fast paced manufacturing environment
