Commissioning EC&I Engineer
Contract Commissioning Engineer – Nuclear Project West Cumbria | Site-Based An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commissioning Engineer to join a major nuclear construction project in West Cumbria. The project forms a critical part of the UK’s long-term nuclear decommissioning programme, delivering a modern facility to safely treat and encapsulate legacy nuclear waste for secure storage. This is a key role within a large, complex infrastructure project operating in a highly regulated environment. Key Responsibilities * Witness vendor testing and factory acceptance tests * Prepare commissioning test specifications and documentation * Carry out early inspection of installations to support system handovers * Execute commissioning and testing activities during the Integrated Plant Commissioning (IPC) phase * Identify faults and implement effective technical solutions * Coordinate Commissioning Technicians and support resources * Initiate and manage Fault Observation Reports (FOBs) * Validate Working Level Instructions * Manage temporary commissioning aids * Deliver commissioning of Nuclear CE&I systems Essential Requirements * HNC/HND (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline * Proven experience in nuclear commissioning * Knowledge of project management principles (APM membership desirable) * Strong Excel capability for calculations and reporting * IOSH Working or Managing Safely * SMSTS or SSSTS * ECS Supervisory Card
