Commissioning Engineer - Energy Monitoring & BMS Integration
Location: Sussex (London & South East travel)
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + overtime + bonus + benefits
The Opportunity:
We're looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join a specialist energy monitoring business delivering high-quality metering and data solutions. This is a field-based role with varied site work across London and the South East (occasional UK wide travel), working with major system integrators, OEMs and modern technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
Commission and configure energy monitoring systems and in-house products on-site
Integrate systems with Building Management Systems (BMS)
Install and configure utility meters (electricity, heat, water, gas)
Work with protocols including Modbus, M-Bus, and BACnet
Set up and troubleshoot IP-based network infrastructure
Ensure accurate data capture for monitoring and billing platforms
Diagnose and resolve integration and communication faults
Produce commissioning reports and technical documentation
Skills & Experience:
Experience with BMS, building controls, or system integration
Knowledge of metering systems and data logging
Experience with Modbus, M-Bus, and BACnet protocols
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Basic networking knowledge (IP, routers, switches)
Electrical or controls engineering background
Strong communication skills with client-facing experience
IT literate
Full UK driving licence
Willingness to travel
