CompEx Electricians needed in Avonmouth and Redcliffe close to Cardiff, Bristol, Newport, Gloucester, Swindon and Cheltenham

Location: Avonmouth & Redcliffe
Rate: £30.00 – £35.00 per hour (£35.00 per hour for CompEx-qualified operatives)
Duration: 4 Months (with potential for extension)
Start Date: Immediate

We are currently recruiting for 4 experienced Electricians to join a major industrial upgrade project based in Avonmouth and Redcliffe. This opportunity is ideally suited to candidates with a strong Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) background, particularly those experienced in complex industrial environments.

This is a key project within the UK’s energy infrastructure sector, offering long hours, consistent work, and the opportunity to be involved in a technically challenging installation.

Project & Scope of Works

The successful candidates will be engaged in the upgrade and replacement of legacy PLC systems, transitioning to new ABB control systems. Works will include:

* Removal and replacement of existing PLC/control systems

* Installation, termination, and integration of new electrical systems

* Working alongside commissioning teams during system upgrades

* Adhering to strict site procedures within a regulated environment

The project is based at a strategic fuel storage and distribution facility, which supplies aviation fuel to major UK airports. The site is currently undergoing a significant upgrade to become the UK’s first independent Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) blending facility, making this a highly notable and future-focused scheme.

Candidate Requirements

* Fully qualified Electrician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)

* CompEx certification (essential for higher rate)

* Demonstrable experience within E&I environments

* Previous experience working on industrial, hazardous area, or energy sector projects

* Experience working with PLC systems and control panels

* Strong understanding of site health & safety and permit systems

Working Hours & Benefits

* £30.00 – £35.00 per hour depending on qualifications

* 10–12 hour working days available

* Weekend work available with enhanced rates for Saturday and Sunday

* Consistent work for the full project duration

* Opportunity to work on a high-profile infrastructure upgrade
