Construction Site Manager – Retail & Leisure Staffordshire £60,000 + Car Allowance + Package We are working on behalf of a growing and ambitious main contractor to appoint an experienced Construction Site Manager to deliver a range of high-quality refurbishment projects across the hotel and retail sectors. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business with a strong pipeline of work, delivering schemes typically ranging from £3m to £10m, with clear progression into a Contracts Manager position following the successful delivery of your first two projects. The Role As Site Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, and to a high standard of finish. You will be leading projects involving: * Cut & carve schemes * Refurbishment and fit-out works * Conversion of existing buildings * Structural alterations and complex sequencing in live environments Key Responsibilities * Manage and coordinate all on-site construction activities * Oversee subcontractors, trades, and suppliers to ensure programme delivery * Drive health & safety standards across site operations * Maintain programme schedules, site records, and progress reports * Act as the main point of contact for clients and stakeholders * Lead site meetings, toolbox talks, and logistics planning * Manage snagging, handover, and aftercare processes What We’re Looking For * Proven experience as a Site Manager on refurbishment projects within hotel and/or retail sectors * Strong background in cut & carve and structural works * Experience in conversion of existing buildings * Excellent understanding of construction sequencing and high-quality fit-out delivery * Ability to manage projects in live or operational environments * Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Qualifications & Skills * SMSTS * CSCS Managers Card * First Aid at Work * Trade background or Construction Management qualification (desirable) * Competent with MS Office and site reporting software What’s on Offer * £60,000 salary * Car allowance * Company phone * Private healthcare & cash plan (post-probation) * Pension scheme (5% employee / 3% employer) * Genuine opportunity to progress to Contracts Manager as the business continues to grow This role is ideal for a driven Site Manager who thrives in technically challenging refurbishment environments and is looking to take the next step in their career with a company that actively supports progression.
